Applicants should have cleared Class 12 or equivalent in any stream from a known board to get admission to Kanpur Institute of Technology. Merit is the basis for admission, and there is no entrance test required. Those students who are highly interested in Business, Management, and Entrepreneurship are eligible to apply.

For B.Tech in Kanpur Institute of Technology, one should have a minimum of 45% in Class 12 (40% for SC/ST) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Admission is done through JEE Main or CUET scores by UPTAC counseling. Lateral entry is also provided to the candidates holding a Diploma directly into the second year.
