Only BCA in the same year of completion can take lateral entry in 2nd year of MCA. This enable them to complete MCA in two years instead of three years as Ist year of MCA covers subjects already done by them in BCA syllabus. Best wishes.

Of course, number of seats available depends on host of other factors like, vacant seats at admission in first year, number of students who failed in first year etc. But knowing that large number of seats in engineering colleges are not getting filled up, I visualize that all students seeking lateral admission will get it
