Yes, definitely you can. A diploma holder can seek lateral admission directly in second year of engineering. But a word of caution. These days, almost all states have reserved seats only for the students who are domiciles of the state. Hence you need to apply to the dte of tech education of your state for admission.

Hi Harikrishna, GITAM will be a better choice because Lateral entry is not possible at GITAM on the basis of Diploma degree. There are limited seats for lateral entry so your percentage in the Diploma must be good. Hope this helps you!

Talking about cut off, it is a pity high and depends on college, university prestige and ranking. In case of lateral entry, the seats are very low and candidates are many. So, they have to score good rank to achieve it.
