Lateral entry

Yes, you can get admission but in order to get admission in College of Engineering Pune (COEP) direct in 2nd year of B.Tech/BE course, you have to appear in lateral entry examinations like LEET/ECET/JELET after completing your Diploma from any recognised board.
You must have 60% of marks in your Diploma. According to your rank and performance in LEET/ECET/JELET, you will be allotted a seat in a particular college and then you can take admission directly in 2nd year of B.Tech/BE in that college.

After 10th, if you take admission in a Diploma course of 3 years you are allotted a seat in engineering colleges through lateral entry based on your rank.

For lateral entry you have to give preferred exam and secure a good rank or if it is a private college then you can get admitted through management quota with slightly high fees and check the fee structure on college's website.

No buddy your rank will be invalid next year and on behalf of your next year's rank you will get admission in first year again.

Through ECET you can enter in B.Tech course if you missed to write ECET you can join in management quota.
