With a BCA lateral entry, you'll bypass the first year of the BCA program; however, you'll need to fulfil some eligibility requirements.

  • A 3-year Diploma in either Computer Science or any relevant discipline from a recognised institute.
  • With a minimum of 50% aggregate score.
  • You may even have to appear for entrance exams such as SET.

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur does not provide lateral entry entrance to its B.Tech programme for students holding any diploma. The eligibility criteria based on 10+2 marks with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths will be followed for a direct admission process in JEE Main to VNIT. However, as a Diploma holder from Madhya Pradesh, you can look into state-level engineering colleges or universities where you can join the B.Tech course through lateral entry. You may opt for Diploma to Degree (D2D) counseling process carried out by the concerned state technical education board for the right alternatives.

Given that your son was studying BA in English (HONS) in t
