Yes, appearing for CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is necessary for admission to most National Law Universities (NLUs) in India for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs. However, some other law colleges may have their own entrance exams or may admit students based on different criteria, such as marks obtained in the qualifying examination (like the 12th grade for UG programs).
