Yes, students can do Law without appearing for MHCET Law but they have to appear for other entrance exams like CLAT, LSAT India, etc. to be considered eligible for studying Law in Mumbai.

There are about 100+ best Law collegesin Mumbai of which 69 colleges are owned privately, 6 colleges are owned by the government and 2 colleges are owned by semi-government institutions. MHCET Law, CLAT, CUET and NMIMS LAT are the top entrance exams for admission to top Law colleges Mumbai.
Government Law College, Maharashtra National Law University, K.C. Law College, University of Mumbai and Amity University are part of the top 10 Law colleges in Mumbai.

Candidate must have completed a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 45% marks in case of general category 42% for OBC and 40% of in case of SC & ST to apply for LLB programme. The LLB is a three-year programme with six semesters. Each semester is of six months.
