The Master of Law degree course prepares graduates at the postgraduate level in legal principles, law, justice and governance while building in them strong research acumen and subject matter expertise in Constitutional and Administrative Law as well as Corporate and Commercial Law. The pedagogy and learning delivery includes classroom training based on seminars, workshops and research-centric discussions on law.
Duration : Full time; One year

Brief Description of Coursework :
• There are five subjects in the first semester and four subjects in the second semester along with the Dissertation.

• Alongside classroom hours, a student may also be allotted practical exercises as a part of the curriculum.
• For the award of the degree of LL.M., a student has to successfully complete ten subjects, or be equivalent of 40 credits respectively.
Eligibility :
• LL. B./B. L. or any other graduate degree in Law recognized by Bar Council of India with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST candidates).
Selection Criteria :
• A high score in ACLAT*
• Personal Interview
*ACLAT - Alliance Common Law Admission Test.

A magistrate is an officer of the Indian judiciary. They only try civil cases. The position of a magistrate is one of the most coveted professions in the Indian judiciary. They are eligible to work in the courts until they are 66 years old. Magistrates have a monthly remuneration of Rs 28, 800/- in addition to other amenities.
Qualifying Exam
Candidates who wish to become Magistrates must appear in the exams carried out by the Law Service Commission. They can also write the State Judicial Law Entrance Exam that is conducted by the Public Service Commission. The notifications for these exams will be available in all leading newspapers.
Who is eligible to apply?
Students who have finished their graduation in Law are eligible to become magistrates. Their age should be more than 21 and must not exceed 35 years at the time of applying. Those candidates who have finished their LLM degree are also eligible to apply. The candidates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in their final exam.
How to prepare for exam and interview?
It is important to prepare well for the written examination. They can either study by themselves or go for coaching classes. Another good option is to write mock test papers. This can be bought from book or stationary stores. Practicing on these question papers will help them to get an idea about the exam structure and pattern. Candidates can also confer with those who have attended these tests earlier. When they appear for the interview, the candidates must be prepared to answer in a straightforward manner. It would also be good if the candidates answer unhurriedly. This will give them some time to think. Moreover, it is important that the candidates be honest while replying.

It's not an "executive MBA;" it's an executive MBA PROGRAM. What that normally means is that the college tries to recruit "executives" to attend shortened course offerings (often at night and on weekends, to accomodate people's jobs). It's little more than a money-making initiative for the colleges and the professors who moonlight for those programs. The degree is allegedly the same as any other MBA, but I have my own doubts (that may be a bit of pomposity on my part).
Executive MBA classes usually held on Saturdays all day long and/or some weeknights. They are entirely cohort programs, which means you take the same classes with everyone enrolled. This causes problems for elective courses since the way it works is the class 'votes' for what electives to have and comprimises. They say the programs are equivalent to a regular MBA but this isn't really the case. Instruction is less rigorous and expectations lower. One doesn't even need a good undergrad GPA nor GMAT scores to get in. Classes take on a more unscientific approach by emphasizing and discussing personal experience at length among the students. In fact, many EMBA programs are held in dining halls with a projector screen and not classrooms or lecture halls. Gourmet catered food service during sessions is common. That gives you an indication to how different it is from a regular MBA.
Yes ! EMBA programs are extremely important to biz schools because they bring in huge amounts of money. Not necessarily just from the tuition (which is much higher than a regular MBA), but from how the students of the organizations tend to be large benefactors to the school itself (they donate a LOT of money and services). Honestly, it borders on unethical but that's how it's done.
