The Long Island University eligibility for undergraduate applicants includes a high school Diploma from a recognised US university or equivalent. For postgraduates, students must have a bachelor's degree from a recognised US university or equivalent. Along with fulfilling eligibility criteria, students must submit the required documents given below:
UG Requirements:
- Transcripts (high school and post-high school)
- English language proficiency scores
- ACT/SAT scores
- Two letters of recommendation
- Personal statement/ Essay
- Program-specific requirements
PG Requirements:

Long Island University expects a Duolingo score of 100 from undergraduate students and 105 from graduate students. Students coming from diverse countries must prove their English language proficiency by submitting the scores of IELTS, TOEFL, PTE and more. The minimum score required to fulfill the English language proficiency criteria is given below for UG and PG applicants:

The documents that are required to be submitted along with the application are academic transcripts, English language proficiency score, letters of recommendation, personal statement, standardized test scores (if applicable), resume (if applicable), etc.

Yes, LIU accepts Duolingo scores from international students as an evidence of English language proficiency score. Minimum Duolingo score required for UG score is 100 and for PG courses, the minimum scores required 105.
