In order to apply to PhD at Lovely Professional University (LPU), one must fulfill explicit and student-friendly standards which are facilitating the academic excellence and research possibility. LPU also encourages applicants who have different academic backgrounds as long as they have the minimum requirements in the field of study of interest.

Applicants with a cleared UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR- NET, GATE, GPAT, or with an M.Phil. degree may be exempted of the LPUNEST (Phd) entrance test and therefore is of extra convenience and recognition of their previous performance.
