Utkal University selects students for MA based on entrance test scores. This test is conducted by the university itself. The merit list for the same is released by the university before the seat allocation process.

The university conducts RVSAT for providing admission to MA course. The shortlisted candidates are further called for PI round. After completion of the selection rounds, the university releases a merit list to announce the names of the shortlisted candidates. The shortlisted aspirants are called for counselling and document verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university. 

Candidates, for MA programme, are first shortlisted on the basis of skill assessment test which consists of written skill test, communication skill and logical reasoning. Shortlisted candidates have to then appear for a personal interview round.
