Indian Civil Services like IAS, IPS and IFS are also good options for these graduates as their main subject is sociology. For that, they should qualify the Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT) held by Union Public Service Commission. They can also write the exams conducted by State Public Service Commission and get into various administrative posts like
Assistant Commissioner
Block Development Officer
Tehsil Welfare Officer
Sub-divisional Magistrate
District Public Relation Officer

It is not necessary to join the JNU programme, because if that would have been the case then engineers opting for arts/humanities optional like public administration, geography or history would not have been cracking the civil services examination. The syllabus of optional is desgined in such a way, which can be finished in 6 to 8 months, if done regressively. Second, there is no issue joining the JNU programme as it is good for career enhancement too, but preparing for civil services cannot be the only factor.
