M.Arch Eligibility

The following academic qualifications are set for admission into the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) programme under the Faculty of Architecture, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU): completion of a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree from an authorized university or institution with an aggregate of at least 50% (or equivalent CGPA).

Some specializations may require more than these basic requirements, such as higher percentage or specialised courses in the undergraduate degree. Apart from such qualifications, the candidate has to clear the entrance examination as prescribed by the university in any form either a written test or a personal interview for further consideration.

Admission is usually based on a combination of score in the entrance exam, academic record, and such others as set out by the university.

For M.Arch program in GITAM School of Architecture, Visakhapatnam, the eligibility criteria is that the student should have possession of a Bachelor's degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or an equivalent recognized qualification by the Council of Architecture, India. Candidate has also been made mandatory to achieve at least 50% aggregate marks in an undergraduate degree. Admission to the course can be taken based upon the performance in the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) or any other competitive exam like NATA or CEED. The M.Arch course requires a background in architecture or related courses. Some colleges may be allowed to admit individuals with conversion programs or special entry requirements.

Europe: The requirements vary depending on the country, for instance, Germany, France, and the Netherlands. Some universities have conversion programs, though others may consider a student with a strong design background, provided other criteria are met.
Australia: Most universities in Australia allow for pathways for students who come from a non-architecture background. Extra studies may be required or a portfolio that proves your relevant skills.
