The smartest move is a Hybrid Approach: enroll in an M.Com via Distance/Online (like IGNOU or LPU Distance) to keep your eligibility open for future government exams or UGC-NET, while dedicating your actual daily energy to a rigorous, portfolio-based Digital Marketing course. This way, you follow your passion without closing the door on the stability your commerce background offers—plus, your accounting knowledge actually makes you a rare, high-value asset for Fintech marketing roles where understanding numbers is a superpower.

An MBA almost always wins the salary war, but there is a massive condition applied. A decent MBA graduate (even from a Tier-2 college) typically starts at ₹6–10 LPA because they are hired for revenue-generating roles like Sales, Marketing, or Strategy, whereas an M.Com graduate usually starts at ₹3–5 LPA in back-office accounting, auditing, or operational roles. However, the critical "Reality Check" is that a generic MBA from a "no-name" local college is often a waste of money (fetching the same ₹20k/month as a fresher), while an M.Com is actually the superior strategic choice if your goal is long-term stability via UGC-NET (Lectureship) or Government exams.
