The final admission to MSc programme is either on the basis of merit or University-level entrance test score. Specialisations for which merit based admission is given are: Home Science (HDFS) and Home Science (Food & Nutrition). For the remaining 26 specialisations entrance test scores are considered.

To apply for Dr Br Ambedkar Open University MSc course, candidates must have passed BSc or bachelor's degree in a relevant subject or its equivalent from any Indian University recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). BRAOU application process for the MSc programme is conducted in online mode. Candidates willing to seek admission need to visit the official website of BROAU to fill out the form and pay the first-year course fee in online mode.

Candidates must have pased BSc or any other UG degree with at least 60% aggregate to apply for NIT Srinagar MSc course. Aspirants must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission. Besides, candidates must also qualify IIT JAM for admission to MSc course.

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have passed the mentioned B.Sc. degree as Botany, Genetics, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Biotechnology as one of the main subjects with 50 percent marks and Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates of Haryana only or equivalent CGPA from a recognised University/Institute. Result awaited (Qualifying Exam.) Candidates can apply. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the MSc programme at YMCA University. The selection of candidates is based on merit in the last qualifying examination.

For admission to MSc programme at NIT Meghalaya candidate must complete the institution's entrance standards, which include achieving a valid score in the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test for MSc followed by CCMN Counselling.  Also candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria i.e. Bachelor's degree with 60% aggregate.  NIT Meghalaya conducts its own admission process for the left over seats from the CCMN counselling process.
