MSc Electronics integrates the understanding and creation of modern electronic designs and systems. It also aims to combine other sub-fields of Engineering like Computer Science Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Students are provided with training in research tools and techniques in order to develop an orientation towards research.

Various electives are also offered in order to encourage innovation in cross-disciplinary topics such as Nanoelectronics. Many universities also offer joint department degrees as well as MS/PhD combined programs in Electronics.

Both colleges accept CCMN scores for the admission to the MSc courses. NIT Rourkela Last Round cutoff score for MSc in Physics specialisation stood at 812 and 949 for 2023 and 2024, respectively.
