IIIT Lucknow MSc course seat reservation is as per the norms of Government of India. The seats are allotted as per the CCMN counselling rounds. The seats are rerved for certian categories of students as follows:
- Claimed Category New Category (PERMITTED)
- GEN-EWS GEN

- SC GEN
- ST GEN
- GEN-PwD GEN

Candidates seeking admission to MSc at IIIT Lucknow are required to register on th official fee payment portal. To apply online, candidates need to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 1,000 as an application fee. The fee payment can be done via credit card/debit card/net banking. Application form is submitted successfully only after the successful application fee payment.

For MSc admission to the International Institute of Information Technology Lucknow, candidates must have an undergraduate degree (of at least three years duration) in any discipline (including arts, science, commerce, design, management, law, engineering etc.) with a first division/ class from a recognised University. Candidates who are expecting to graduate by 1st July of that year can also apply for the IIIT Bangalore MSc course.

IIIT Lucknow conducts admission to the MSc course via the Centralized Common Counselling. The CCMN counselling process is conducted based on IIT JAM scores. Therefore, candidates must participate in the IIT JAM exam to be eligible for the MSc course. IIT JAM will be conducted on February for admissions to the Masters degree programmes in 22 IITs and other result-sharing institutes. The exam will be held in two shifts i.e., the forenoon for Chemistry, Geology and Mathematics subjects and the Afternoon shift for Biotechnology, Physics, Economics and Mathematical Statistics Subjects.
