Yes, a BMLT graduate can pursue an M.Sc. in Microbiology from St. Xavier's College. St. Xavier's and most of the college accept students from different life Science background, if you fulfil their eligibility criteria, which is mostly having a bachelor's degree and in some cases with a minimum percent is required. Make sure you thoroughly verify your eligibility according to St. Xavier's College's admission criteria and entrance exam requirements before applying!

For pursuing an M.Sc. in another says top NITs such as Trichy & Rourkela outshine in Chemistry as a newer institute of IIT. Especially, NIT Trichy is one of the reputed institutes for its chemistry program, experienced faculty, and decent placement opportunities. You have AIR 790 in EWS category, the chances of get admission in this established NITs are higher, go ahead.
