Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture or qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE. Candidate must have secured the above-mentioned marks in all years of the qualifying degree OR b) awarding degree based on aggregate marks secured in the final two semesters or final year of the qualifying degree: GE/OBC/EWS: Minimum of 60% marks (OR a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale) SC/ST/PwD: CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale). B.Tech students who graduated/graduating from IITs having a CGPA of 8.00 or above (out of 10) are eligible for direct admission without having to appear in either GATE or personal interview.

Nanotechnology is an interdisciplinary technology of assembly of individual atoms, molecules, or molecular clusters into structures to create materials and devices with control geometry and at least one component below 100 nm (nanometer) including advanced equipment that allow controlled fabrication, measurement, and visualization with high resolution. A complex research environment and infrastructure must be established in order to support industry-relevant initiatives. It is considered a logical byproduct of this process since there is a significant demand for education in the interdisciplinary field of nanotechnology.
