Hello, Yes, it is necessary to UGC NET Exam to become an Assistant Professor. As per UGC NET Exam guidelines aspirants can apply for the exam with their post graduation subject or related to that. According to your subject, you can apply for UGC NET Electronic Science. You are lucky, the UGC NET 2020 Apply Online process is still in a running way. NTA has started the process from 16th March 2020. Earlier it was ended on 15th April 2020 but due to COVID-19, it has been extended till 30th June 2020. According to UGC norms, the stipend is given to every student who has QUALIFIED Gate exam irrespective of from where you are pursuing it -IIT, NIT, Govt, Non-govt, semi-govt college, etc- doesn't matter. If you are gate qualified, you are eligible for stipend from every college having M.TECH course. So you will get the stipend.

As per the SPSU Prospectus the admission in M.Tech courses are done through the SPSAT entrance exam. Hence the GATE stipend is not applicable here.

An amount of INR 12,400 per month (approximately) is provided to GATE qualified M.Tech students. Candidates with a valid GATE Score can avail the benefit of GATE financial assistant ship/ scholarship.

You should take Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English as the main subjects in 11th and 12th for getting admission into B.Tech courses. Further you should also score minimum 75% of aggregate marks in 12th in order to get admission in IITs, NITs, GFTIs and CFTIs through JEE Main.
