Jadavpur University is one of the best government colleges among the top 10 colleges in India rank by MHRD, so it takes admission only through GATE exams marks. After scoring good marks in GATE you can apply for M.E./M.Tech/M.Pharm/M.Arch courses online through official website as per schedule. You have to submit a separate application form for separate courses. All the best

Well, of course, it would be beneficial for you. But, in order to pursue an M.Tech, doing a B.Tech is a prerequisite. Therefore, my suggestion would be that you first enroll in a college of your choice which offers B.Tech programme. Then, go for M.Tech. Best of luck.

There are plenty of entrance exams for seeking admission to M.Tech. The most prominent of them is GATE. I am attaching one link that will give you an idea of different examinations that you are required to give if you are seeking admission in the different places or different universities in India. Even though the information is of 2016 vintage, it is still relevant today.
