Post graduate diploma in management is definitely not same as ME. ME is a post graduate degree in engineering, whereas PG diploma in management is diploma in the different field of Management and its duration is also one year as compared with 2 years for ME. If you are doing post-graduation in engineering then you are continuing to be in the same engineering field for your career. However when you opt to go for diploma in management it shows that you want to change your career to the management side. This is a big decision that you have to take. As far as the placements are concerned I feel in both areas they are equally good. So it's

I believe you must have experienced B.Tech course, which focuses more on technical aspects not on the research/Science aspects. So, rather than taking suggestions from other people you should evaluate yourself on the basis of your experience. And, then decide whether you want to master in the details of the subject or you want to contribute to technical expectations of the world. Good luck for your future.

Hello Mohammed,
It's indeed great to hear from you that you are interested in doing your M.Tech in thermal engineering. It's a great subject that holds bright future. Normally speaking, government sponsored or aided establishments give admission based on GATE score. So it's almost mandatory that you need to appear for GATE and clear it with good marks. Of course there are some deemed to be universities which conduct their own entrance exam for admission. It's indeed unfortunate that unlike PG in medical there is no single exam for this purpose.
Best wishes to you.

Hi Mohammed,
PGCET is the entrance exams conducted for PG courses. The results will be announced in the form of ranks. And allotment of seats are done online according to list of colleges given by you. There will be two rounds of seat allotment if you get allotted to the college of your preference, then you can proceed with the admissions, else you can go for the second round of allotment.
