Thats a myth, any one in India can take CET there are seats reserved for maharashtra and non maharashtra students. Infact there are 12 centres outside maharashtra where students can give then exam.

Preparation can be three types: Self, Self plus coaching, Coaching,
It depends on whether you are working or a student. So, if you are working you have to prepare either by self-using the correspondence booklets or you can take option of taking weekend coaching classes or you can buy some famous book

You need to score really high in MAH-CET to get into top colleges.

The MAH-CET exam will be conducted next year by DTE. However, they won't consider scores of XAT, MAT and ATMA exams for admissions to the MMS/MBA programs of various colleges.

The dates for the MAH-MBA CET exam won't be announced so early, as it is usually conducted in the month of March. You can expect the dates to be out by mid or early January.
