Hello! Ramiz Hasware, it's very nice to hear from you that after working for 10 years you are now interested and doing you are graduation in engineering. Yes I fully support you in that studying at any age in life or any stage in life is always good for developing one's career and one's knowledge. But I am afraid to tell you that at least presently in India no professional course including that of Engineering graduation can be offered by any university under the distance education more which is what you are sinking. However there is a way out. Ask you are working and an Indian citizen you can think of doing what is called as A M I E. By completing all the papers of this examination, you get qualification which is equivalent to graduation in engineering and is accepted by everyone for all the purposes. Best wishes to you.

Hello! Nilesh Giri, admissions to diploma courses offered by different polytechnics including the Government polytechnic at Thane are conducted by the directorate of technical education of the state of Maharashtra in a centralised fashion. All the students who have passed 10th and who are meeting the criteria for admission have been ask to register themselves on its website by giving revealed information so that the admissions can be processed sent only by way of counselling. There is no mention what so ever about any cut-off announced by the government polytechnic at Thane. So be rest assured that for admissions in this Institute that is no need to worry about obtaining certain minimum marks to be eligible to even apply. Anyone who meets the minimum criteria can apply for admission in this polytechnic by registering on the website as mention about.

Hello Mukesh Gaikwad, firstly I must congratulate you for scoring nicely in your 10th examination. There is no cut-off prescribed by Government Polytechnic at Aurangabad for admissions into various courses that it conducts. Let me further explain. Admissions to different polytechnics across Maharashtra are centrally done by counselling by the directorate of technical education of the state of Maharashtra. Any student who has cleared the minimum criteria prescribed by this directorate can see admission. Admissions are of course given based on the merit list of the candidates drawn by this directory based on the marks of 10th. Nowhere does it say that this is the cut-off below which students need not apply. By looking into the website of the concerned institution you will come to know perhaps another important aspect which is a closing percentage which will give you an idea about your chances of getting admission. Hello Anthara Nanaware, I can appreciate your angst and anxiety. COEP ranks in the top five engineering colleges in the state of Maharashtra. However, there is no mention of any cutoff for admission to this college. Please try to understand. Admissions are not processed by the college. This job is done by the CET cell of govt of Maharashtra after the declaration of results of MHTCET. Students are to register with them and give preference for admission. All colleges across Maharashtra are included in this process. Hence there is no scope for any college to announce a cutoff. What is announced by colleges after the admission process is over are the opening and closing ranks of students who got admission. Obviously for this college, one must be perhaps in the top five percentile for having a reasonable chance of getting admission.

Hello Anant Behera, I feel that you are confusing between cutoff list and closing list. Cut off is the ranking or the percentile or the marks which are declared by a particular Institute below which they do not accept applications from anyone. In most of the cases this is done to avoid flood of applications when the capacity to admit is very limited. However as a matter of policy or matter of rule no government institute or polytechnic announces any cut off what so ever below which students cannot apply. Be that as it may one needs to obtain a better score in 10th examination to get admission in any of the government polytechnics because there is a huge rush for admission since fees charged or very very less while academics is quite good.
