Admission in Indian Maritime University for B.Tech in Marine Engineering (Lateral Entry) is done through counseling based on the rank obtained in Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET). Candidate must have studied English with minimum 60% marks in 10/10+2.

Admission is through Centralised Admission Process counseling based on the obtained in 10+2 examination.
Aspirants must have Physics, Chemistry, English, Biology/ Mathematics as mandatory Subjects in 10+2.

It is an autonomous private university. One university cannot be affiliated with another university. Only institutes and colleges are affiliated.
