Admission to the Indian Maritime University, Chennai-Mumbai Campus MERI is based on both an entrance exam and merit. There is an entrance exam (IMU CET) for UG and PG courses such as B.Sc., B.Tech, DNS, M.Sc., and MBA. I recommend MANET Pune for B.Tech Marine Engineering as a student. It requires a slightly higher English percentage but provides a focused curriculum and strong industry connections through its Training and Placement Cell, which improves practical exposure and job prospects.

The best course at Indian Maritime University, Chennai-Mumbai Campus MERI is dependent on personal career objectives. However, B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering is in high demand because it provides a thorough foundation in maritime engineering.

Both the universities offer MBA course for interested candidates. Both the Universities is have a great infrastructure, faculty members and a great campus life. The only difference is the placement cell. The students at PDM University did not get good placements and only a few of them were hired by the top companies. On the other hand, more than 50% of the students at MERI CET university God placements in Big MNCs. So if one has to choose between PDF university or MERI CET university, one can definitely go for MERI CET in terms of good placements, infrastructure and excellent faculty members.

The Indian Maritime University (IMU) offers B.Tech in Marine Engineering at its Chennai and Mumbai campuses. The admission is based on the IMU Common Entrance Test (CET) score. According to the IMU academic brochure, the eligibility criteria for B.Tech in Marine Engineering is 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate in PCM and a minimum of 50% marks in English. There is a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks for SC/ST candidates, but it does not apply to English marks. The brochure does not specify the required percentile in the IMUCET for admission.
