There is no requirement of special books of PCM for CET preparation as the syllabus is similar to the other Indian engineering entrance examinations. Therefore, one can follow any standard book for engineering preparation available in the market. But I would suggest to build a strong foundation of concepts of PCM as it will help you in the long run. Moreover for the General Aptitude, English and General Knowledge there are plenty of good books available in the market. You may pick RS Aggarwal, General English by Arihant or any other as per your convenience for the first two sections. Please keep in mind that in these sections also the

Hello Gangu,
Yes, 12th by NIOS is same as 12th by any board. Hence I see no difficulty for you in getting admission for marine engineering based on 12th by NIOS. However other eligibility criteria remain and you will have clear these.

There are better colleges for DNS course.
Well, considering a best institute for DNS might be subjective, but I can tell you my opinion which is based on Future prospects and job guaranty which matters the most. You'll come across many people who'll tell you that IMU Campus are one of the best but they're actually not.
Here is my list.
Applied Research International (ARI), Chatarpur, New Delhi
Indian Maritime Institute (IMI), Greater Noida
Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI), Pune
Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies (GEIMS)

The IMU neither publish the cutoff marks, nor does it publish the marks obtained by any individual. So, obviously no one really knows its cutoff marks. All they do is that they publish a pdf file, which shows each individuals rank (with application number and name) who got selected.

Those students who have decided to make their career in the field of shipping, their primary focus is to clear IMU CET and believe me guys, this is not an easy task at all.
Basically, in entrance exams Maths, Chemistry and Physics are included as main subjects, while GK, English, and aptitude are common in all other entrance exams. Here are some basic tips that the aspirants of IMUCET should keep in mind while preparing for exam-
Cross check your syllabus with the brochure of IMU. Go through as many sample papers as you can. They are keys to achieve success in the exam. These question papers will help you to get better insight about the

Hi Akshat. Difficulty regarding any exam is matter of perspective and it varies from one individual to another. As far as IMUCET is concerned, I personally think that it is not that much difficult to crack it because :
- The nature of exam is online with no negative marking. - The questions asked are just to test the basic understanding of PCM, General knowledge and general English. And, Talking about the TMISAT It's not that difficult, it's comparatively easier than JEE Mains. Just go through your class 11th and 12th syllabus. All the best for your future, Best wishes to you!
