All you need is to choose your passion. Both the stream is excellent in today's era. According to my experience IEM is a very good college for engineering. If you are interested in marine, you can apply there. Hence, CS is also better. Based on your interest, choose your stream. All the best.

However, placements depend on your PCM marks (70%). In English, 80% is required by most of the companies.

No, for that course, you have to be 12th passed.
After that, you can apply online with the required information.
The eligible candidates need to appear for the Written Test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview based on marks obtained in the written test.
Further shortlisted candidates will be called for a Psychometric Test based on performance in Personal Interview.
The candidates are selected based on marks in written test and performance in psychometric test and personal interview.
