Yes, it is useful to give competitive exams like UPSC, MPSC, or any other competitive exam.
You can opt for any course for your UG programme, as the field of education does not really matter, when you apply for a UPSC exam. What matters is that, you should be a graduate and how you perform in the exam. To prepare for the exam, refer to class 9th to class 12th NCERT books of Geography, History and Civics. Read at least 2 newspapers daily, and join the mock test series in order to clear the exam.

It may be noted that the syllabus for most M.Sc. Entrance exams incude candidates B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) course material. Therefore, if candidates are thorough with their B.Sc. Syllabus and have a clear understanding of the concepts studied during graduation, there are high chances of clearing an M.Sc. Entrance exam with a good score.

You can do a Bachelors in Mass Media followed by a masters degree or course in Film Making.
FTII Pune, MIT Pune, Symbiosis Pune, Amity Noida are some of the places offering formal degrees in Film and Production.
FTII remains the best choice and option for you as well.

Hello Shikha,
NIMC is a decent college with good faculty members and some industry leaders as the guest faculty members. So pursuing mass communication from here can be a good option. But when it comes to Masters, I would suggest you to consider this as the last option as their course module is same as of the Bachelors and I don't find it very interesting for Masters.
