Hi dear,
The questions asked in the interview are pretty generic but if you try to bloat they will catch you and ask difficult questions. For example, if you say you love fashion, they will ask you why. So, be prepared for that. If you are planning to go into styling or designing, get your information about the top Indian and international designers (or stylists) and know your favourites (they can also ask why is the designer your favourite). It's always better to take a portfolio no matter what course you are joining cuz in the end all courses here are the creative kind and a good portfolio always helps one to stand out. You can add in your sketches, your photography, tour craft work, anything that brings our the artist in you. Lastly, dress semi-formally and be experimental with your fashion choice. It is appreciated here. Most of all have fun, it's not a hard drill.

Research is indeed the best hallmark of a good place to learn Mass Media/Communication. Even for other subject's, the quality indeed gets manifested if the university offers quality research. Let me tell you one thing observed during education related counselling, Ph.D. from Government Universities or Central Universities still remain a quality thing because you get guides who are quite qualified on the academic part. There are strong notions that these days the quality has called to the new low all around in research. I shall suggest that you consider JNU, Jamia Milia Islamia, (find out IIMC courses for future) Amity University, Symbiosis Pune etc. It is also to be noted that you can do a Ph.D. from IIT and IIMS as well, because there they offer this through the Social Science department.

Media management basically deals with organizing and supervising media professionals, various media channels, production houses and more. A media manager's role is to make use of organization skills, marketing strategies, media economic understanding, and the knowledge of different software tools utilized in media productions. Media management is a target driven role and you need to be team player, one who can tackle any situation limited resources. A media manager acts as an intermediary between a product and a media house. One who can publicize, advertise and sell a particular product or a campaign effectively to the client. Mostly, after studying media management you can get in to advertising, and/or social media management.
