Direct admission to N.M.D. College depends completely on the course and the availability of seats in that particular course. For a few courses, depending on the eligibility criteria or minimum percentage scored in the qualifying exam, direct admissions may take place for a candidate.

The cutoff marks for admission in Natwarlal Maniklal Dalal Postgraduate College of Arts and Commerce, N.M.D. College varies every year with the number of applicants, seats available in that particular college, and also considering the merits of candidates in entrance examinations or qualifying exams. Generally, cutoff marks are set by the college as per the merit list drawn after considering the above factors. UG Admission in SJCIT require 45 % marks in 10+2 exam for general candidates and 40 % for SC/ST/OBC candidates with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology. This college provides admission through KCET/COMEDK score cards for complete four year full time degree program. For PG courses, candidate must have the bachelor's degree in any discipline with not less than 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) and valid PGCET/ GATE/CMAT scores. For the UG and PG courses there is the provision to admit under management quota directly.

For admission to the UG courses in SIETK, one has to clear the EAMCET every year and must have 45% marks in class XII with PCM conducted by the Govt of Andhra Pradesh for the reserved category 40%. For taking admission in PG courses like M.Tech or MBA ( Various Courses), the minimum qualification required is the obtained percentage in the bachelor's degree as 50% marks for open category students and 45% for the students belonging to reserved category and also the qualified marks for GATE/PGECET/AP ICET (For MBA) examination will be mandatory. All admissions are merit based as per state government scheduled norms.
