The final admission list of the institutes is made on the basis of candidates performance in the various selection rounds of MAT selection procedure. The MAT selection process usually comprises of shortlisting of candidates based on their MAT score after applying the cut-off, conducting the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. The candidates obtaining the required cutoff scores are eligible for the pre-admission rounds of the Institutes. Regular candidates should possess a valid score in the Common Admissions Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management. IIT graduates who obtained a CGPA of 8 and above on 10 are exempted from CAT score. Their shortlisting will be based on a composite score with due weights to applicants CAT score, past academic performance, industry experience and gender.

You must look for the college which has the good set of faculty members because after all, the skills development, it is the subject that will fetch you a job, in the end, it doesn't mean that other aspects are to be neglected but basics of the subject is necessary. The return on the fees that you invest must be good, which means the average placement package should be near to the fees you pay to the college if it is more than it is most preferred.
