Hello Rakesh,
CAT tests a candidate on the basis of how well he/she is able to implement the knowledge of various basic concepts in its questions. Whereas, the various B-Schools evaluate the final year students or freshers based mainly on their academic scores, knowledge about the current affairs/GK and extra-curricular activities.

Hello Manoj,
To get admission in any good and reputed B-School, you need to appear for one or the other MBA entrance exam. So you have to appear for them. The next important and upcoming exam is NMAT (starting from October first week).

Cracking MAT in one month is quite tough. Go with solving previous years question papers and try to take mocks as much as possible.

If you're aiming for CAT'18 then this is the ideal time to start. Give 2-3 hours daily for CAT. You can also join any coaching institute if needed. For verbal, I'll suggest you start reading newspapers like 'The Hindu' and 'Times of India'. Make a habit of reading. Word power made easy by Norman Lewis is a must.

Hello Prashant,
If you are taking SNAP then you need not worry. Ranking in SNAP only will decide your eligibility for admission. Your marks of previous studies may be useful if you want to further pursue studies abroad. But presently only SNAP matters.

There are many depending on the city you are located in. Most popular institutes are TIME, BYJU's, PT, Career Launcher, IMS, etc. Their quality differs depending on the city. In Jaipur, I'd suggest you go for PT. In Delhi, TIME is better. Go to the city which is more convenient.

Hello Ron,
CAT is the master of all MBA entrance examinations, but still, there are more exams which you can take such as XAT, NMAT by GMAC and Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test.

Your score is average. Try to make it 620+ so that you can opt for better institutes under MAT. Work hard, think twice before investing your time and money instead of repentance afterwards.
Best of luck.

CAT has minus marking scheme. The marking scheme for CAT 2016 had 3 marks for every correct answer and 1 mark deducted from candidates credit score for every wrong answer. The exception is non-MCQs where candidate's wrong answers are not imposed with the penalty of negative marking.
