Hi,
Both of the exams are meant for to get entry into MBA colleges.
There are many colleges which accepts both scores.
But some colleges accepts only CMAT.
There are good college which accepts MAT.
I will recommend you to write MAT because:
1. It is less difficult than CMAT.
2. MAT is conducted 4 times a year but for CMAT it is conducted only once in a year.
You can improve your score of MAT if you feel that your first attempt is poor.
For eg: If you write September MAT & scored very less, you can try December MAT & improve your scores.

Only CAT scores matter. Your graduation marks will only help you during the PI. It doesn't matter from which college you have done your graduation.

Hello, IMI Bhubaneswar uses CAT/XAT/CMAT scores along with other academic parameters like marks in 10th, 12th and graduation for the purpose of shortlisting. It depends on the overall profile of the applicants each year. But the minimum should be above 60 percentile to qualify.

CAT is a test conducted by IIM.
MAT is a test conducted by AIMA.
CMAT is a test conducted by AICTE.
You can also pursue MBA after qualifying XAT or GMAT exam.
All these exams have different modules or pattern of questions.

It will be better to have dedicated preparations for CAT in the year in which you planning to appear for CAT. However, you may work to continuously improve your numerical, data interpretation and verbal communication ability along with your graduation study to improve your chances to crack CAT.
