Great Lakes is one of the top-most B-schools in India and generally, they send GD-PI calls depending on a person's overall performance throughout class 10th, 12th, graduation and entrance. Your entrance score is not bad but isn't enough to get a call from Great Lakes. Even if you get a call, it will be hard for you to convert the call.

Your academics is really good but Great Lakes is one of the top B-Schools in India which has a cut-off of 85-90% and it also considers an overall profile of the candidate. So, I suggest you to look for other colleges. You can apply to Sri Balaji Society's Colleges, ITM, IBS, TSM, INDIRA, etc. For assistance on Sri Balaji Society, comment below.

Hey,
SIES accept CMAT score for PGDM. If you perform good in GDPI then you have chance to get in because only 20% weightage given to written exam. And fee for 2016-18 batch PGDM - Rs 3, 40,000 per year (including formal suit, fees for Peregrine Evaluation, and industry visits / outbound experiential learning / aptitude test cost)

Hi,
There are certain essential differences between CAT and GMAT.
1. Quants section of CAT is tougher than GMAT. In CAT you can afford to skip questions, but in GMAT. You cannot do that.
2. If you don't do well in CAT then next year you can take CAT again. If you don't do well in GMAT. You can retake GMAT after few months. Speed and accuracy is essence of both.
3. CAT cost: Rs.2000 approximately for per-form.
4. GMAT. Rs.16k approximately for per appearance. I hope this helps.

There are three parts involved in preparing for any competitive exam.
1. Learning the concepts.
2. Solving questions and papers
3. Evaluation and improving. You can use Youtube or refer some books to clarify concepts and learn about the test format and structure. For solving problems you can buy some books by Tata McGraw Hill, Arihant for CAT and Kaplan, GMAT Review for GMAT. For evaluation and improving, you can solve papers and evaluate them yourself. Find out your weaknesses and work on improving them.
