Both universities are state based universities and both are quite similar in every aspects but utkal university is better in infrastructure, campus life, faculty but sambalpur university offer slightly better median salary as compared to utkal university. Utkal university accept admission for MBA through OJEE only but sambalpur university accepts admission for MBA through ATMA, CAT, OJEE, XAT, MAT etc. Utkal university ranked A+ by the NAAC whereas Sambalpur university ranked A by NAAC . Sambalpur university is quite affordable as compare to utkal university. Placement records are similar and the recruiters are also almost same.
