Generally the CAT/GMAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/IIFT etc. are conducted much before the final semester exams of most undergraduate courses. Candidates are also eligible in some of these exams from their second last semester which gives them enough time to ponder over their choices based on the scores obtained. The couselling also takes place immediately once the results of the exams are out.
