JIPMAT 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JIPMAT exam in April 2026. Candidates aspiring for IPM admissions at IIM Jammu or IIM Bodh Gaya must apply for JIPMAT 2026 exam. As per the JIPMAT dates 2026 (expected), the registration process will begin in February 2026.

What is JIPMAT?

JIPMAT or Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test is a national-level entrance examination for admission to 5-Year Integrated Program in Management. JIPMAT scores help in IPM admissions at IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu. The exam will be held for 2.5 hours in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in more than 75 cities across India. The JIPMAT exam pattern comprises questions from three sections, namely: 1. Quantitative Aptitude 2. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning 3. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension As per the test structure of JIPMAT exam, candidates have to answer a total of 100 MCQ-type questions divided into three sections in an equal weightage. However, to round off the 33.33% weightage of each section, NTA has allotted an additional question to VARC section, i.e. 34 questions for VARC and 33 questions each for QA, and DILR. Candidates need to answer all questions in JIPMAT exam within a time duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes in English medium.

Such candidates will have to produce the passing Certificate with all the relevant documents before the final admission offer can be released.

Yes, JIPMAT exam consists of a negative marking for incorrectly marked responses. JIPMAT scores are calculated by allocating 4 marks for each correct response and deducting 1 mark for every incorrect responses. However, candidates do get any score deduction for unattempted questions. To evaluate the probable score in JIPMAT candidates only need the answer key and question paper. NTA does not normalize scores as the exam is conducted in one shift. Candidates must only rely on the JIPMAT answer key to evaluate performance.

That is to say, only one out of every 117 candidates registered for the exam was selected for admission. NTA has designed the JIPMAT exam to compile as many as 100 questions collectively across three sections. NTA has tried and divided these 100 questions equally across the following sections: 1. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) Both QA and DILR have 33 questions each, while the VARC section compiles 34 questions. Q:   What is the difficulty level of JIPMAT mock tests?

NTA conducts JIPMAT as a national-level entrance exam for admission to the 5-year IPM courses offered by the IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. The difficulty level of the JIPMAT mock exam is similar to the actual exam. NTA facilitates the mock tests using the previous year's question papers Therefore, the difficulty level of official JIPMAT mock test is easy to moderate. Typically, candidates will not find mock tests for JIPMAT exam unofficially. Official NTA JIPMAT mock tests only have two tests for practise. Candidates can use both the mock tests from the official NTA website.
Q:   Can board exam scores affect the JIPMAT cutoff?
A: 
Class 12 scores will not affect the JIPMAT cutoff scores. However, the final admission criteria may include the Class 10 and Class 12 scores to select candidates. JIPMAT participating Iims release separate admission policy every year. In the past admission session, both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya have considered the Class 10 and Class 12 level scores while selecting candidates for admission. However, as per the IIM Jammu IPM admission policy, no weightage has been provided to the board exam scores. IIM BG is yet to release the detailed admission policy for IPM courses. The admission policy may or may not include the prior academic record.
Q:   Will there be any Personal Interview round after shortlisting based on JIPMAT scores?

No. There is no personal interview round for admissions through JIPMAT.

IIM Jammu or IIM Bodh Gaya does not conduct any Personal Interview rounds for IPM admission. The admission policy for both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya varies from year to year. Participating Iims have not conducted any PI What or GD rounds after shortlisting based on JIPMAT scores.

As per the JIPMAT admission policies, the selection of candidates for IPM courses will be based on the JIPMAT scores. IIM Jammu is providing an additional 5 per cent to female candidates. A merit list will be prepared for the selected candidates based on JIPMAT score and gender.

The JIPMAT 2026 results will be declared on the official exam website (exams.nta.ac.in/JIPMAT). Candidates need to download their scorecards using the login credentials generated at the time or registration, i.e. application number, password or date of birth. The JIPMAT score is considered for the selection of candidates for the second round of admission to IPM programmes offered by IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu.

JIPMAT Composite Score 2026

Based on the performance of the candidates in JIPMAT 2026, Class 10 and 12 academic records, IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu will prepare composite scores of the candidates. Candidates having a composite score of more than the cutoff score are eligible for the IPM admission.

IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya has separate admission policy for IPM courses offered at the institute. IIM Jammu admission policy for IPM selection includes 95 per cent weightage for the JIPMAT scores with 5 per cent for female candidates. While IIM Bodh Gaya is expected to provide 100 per cent weightage to JIPMAT scores. IIM Bodh Gaya reserves the seats for female candidates instead of providing additional weightage in the selection process. In the previous sessions, JIPMAT participating Iims have considered Class 10 and 12 scores in the selection process along with the 60 per cent weightage for the JIPMAT scores. The IPM admission policy at IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya may or may not change with each session.

NTA is yet to notify the JIPMAT event schedule for the declaration of the results. JIPMAT 2024 exam will be conducted on June 6. With the exam scheduled to be conducted, in first week of June, candidates can expect the release of JIPMAT results in the third week of June. The scorecard will be made available for download on the official website. Candidates can access the JIPMAT scorecard using their date of birth or password created at the time of registration. The scorecard will be used during the IPM admission process at IIM Jammu, and IIM Bodh Gaya.

JIPMAT Cutoff 2026

After the release of composite scores, cutoff lists are released in phases. Candidates who are eligible as per the JIPMAT cutoff list need to pay the EoI (Expression of Interest) fee followed by payment of the acceptance fee and the semester fee for IPM admissions. NTA will not entertain any requests concerning the offline submission of the JIPMAT application form.
