IT industry is in slow decline phase because of outcry against outsourcing in Western countries and increasing restrictions on working visas, therefore, days ahead for IT professionals will be tough. But it still a good option for bright professionals. The shelf life of IT Technologies is 18 months. For graduates, job opportunities exist in government as well well as private sector. Also, self-employment options are available. After BCA, which is an Undergraduate course, graduates may take up government jobs that require a graduation degree (for example- Armed Forces, nationalised banks, PSUs etc).
When it comes to the private sector, software MNCs are the prime recruiters. Web hosting, IT sector, Electronics Industry are some other sectors that recruit BCA graduates.
