State rank list of NEET will be derived on the basis of marks obtained in the offline entrance examination. On the other hand, state rank is the rank which is calculated on the basis of candidates appeared from a particular state. Suppose, you belong to Maharashtra, and there are around 1 lac candidates who also belong to Maharashtra state. So your rank among those Maharashtra candidate will be called as State rank.

You need to take an entrance examination called NEET in order to join MBBS/BDS/ B.A. MS /BHMS after completion of 12th standard. This is a nationwide entrance exam conducted by NTA. This exam consists of 180 questions from subjects' botany, Zoology Physics and Chemistry. This exam is for 720 marks i.e.,4 marks for every correct answer and -1 for every wrong one.
