Integrated BTech-MTech Metallurgical Engineering course is a five-year course which is offered by few universities in India. The admissions to this course is also done through JEE Main and JEE Advanced examination.
Pursuing a regular in BTech and MTech takes six years whereas BTech-MTech takes five years. Hence, an integrated course is very popular amongst candidates who wish to make a career in the field of academics or research.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For JEE Main Round 6 cutoff 2023, the opening rank was 41479 and closing rank was 51002 for the general category candidates under All India quota. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 48295 and 60298. Admission to Metallurgical Engineering in IIEST Shibpur is based on the scores obtained in the JEE Main entrance exam. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.
