Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala offers admission to its BSc programmes on a merit-basis. Hence, the aspirants scores in the last qualifying examination, i.e., Class 12 are taken into consideration. Candidates also have to submit their pass certificates at the university for verification purposes. The seats are allotted through a centralised allotment procedure.

The minimum score requirement for selection to the MGU counselling round varies from course to course. The selection is actually based on rank list released during result. Apart from the written tests, weightage is given to personal interview. The weightage of MGU CAT is 80 percent and personal interview is 20 percent. Candidates need to score at least above 50 percent in the MGU CAT to be shortlisted.

Admission to MG University is based on cut offs. Candidates who appear for MGU CAT have to meet minimum cut off score for their course group to be selected for counselling. Process is conducted in online mode. Candidates who meet selection criteria for their course have to apply and submit documents for admission.

Admission to this PG-level course is through a Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). For selection, candidates have to take the MGU CAT exam, which is conducted in-house. Based on the candidates' score in the entrance examination, a selection list is released by the university. Candidates who make it to the list become eligible for participation in the counselling round. The seats are allotted after document verification during counselling.
Moreover, its affiliated colleges accept other entrance exam scores as well. The accepted exam list include CPGET/MAT/CAT/CMAT/KMAT Kerala/Kerala University Admission.

The BTech fee structure of the programme is INR 1.1 lakh- 4 Lacs for the four-year programme. MG University offers BTech specilisation in Polymer Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, CSE, Naval Architecture, Cyber Security, and others. The fee structure does not inculde the hostel and mess fees.
