The number of answer options in the objective type questions of MICAT is not static. Each year, the number of answer options may change as per the exam structure. However, candidates can expect a range of answer options between two to eight. Candidates will have to choose one right option, or candidates may have to match the correct options. Before attempting the MICAT question paper, candidates must refer to the MICAT sample papers released by MICA with the exam details.

Candidates taking the MICAT exam will not get the facility to navigate across sections. Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, has three sections as mentioned below:
A: Psychometric Test
B: Descriptive Test
C: Aptitude Test (with four sub-sections)
Candidates answering questions in MICAT's section C get an option to navigate across its sub-sections. Canddidates are allowed to answer questions from any of the four sub-sections in the Aptitude Test. However, once the candidate has submitted responses of Psychometric Test and Descriptive Test, he/she is not allowed to move back to edit the responses of tyhe submitted section.

MICAT Psychometric exam has a total of 150 questions. Candidates may or may not answer all the questions. Psychometric Test is a qualifier exam. Candidates who do not answer all questions in the Psychometric Test may not get the section evaluated. Performance in the Psychometric test is not included while merit preparation for final selection. However, candidates who do not pass the Psychometric test are not considered for evaluation in the subsequent section of the MICAT exam. Section C, or Aptitude Test of MICAT exam is divided into four sub-sections. The number of questions may change with each examination cycle. Based on the previous year's exam analaysis, there were a total of 70 questions in the Aptitude Test of MICAT exam. These 70 questions were divided into four sub sections in the following weight:
- Divergent-Convergent Reasoning: 20
- Verbal Ability: 20
- Quantitative Ability: 20
- General Awareness: 10
The Aptitude Test section of the MICAT exam had negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect response.

MICAT exam has three sections. The third section of the exam, that is the Aptitude Test has four sub sections. These sub-sections are similar to the syllabus of other competitive exams. However, candidates can answer questions i9n section C only after they submit their responses from Section A and B.
The sub sections included in the Section C of MICAT exam are:
- Divergent-Convergent Reasoning
- Verbal Ability
- Quantitative Ability
- General Awareness
Candidates can use CAT or CMAT books to prepare for the sub-sections under Section C of MICAT exam.

Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, conducts MICAT exam in two phases every year. Candidates can appear for either of the exam phase or both the exam phases. MICA will assess the performance of all the test takers based on the best of two scores. The syllabus for MICAT I and II is same. Therefore, candidates can prepare for both MICAT I and II using an identical study material.
Candidates who plan to appear for both MICAT I and II must apply for both the exam phases separetly. Additionally, MICAT fees is to be paid for both the exam phases.

Typically, Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, releases the MICAT exam dates and event schedule in the month of September. As per the event schedule trends, candidates are allowed to apply for the exam with the release of the exam details and event schedule. The official website of MICAT will host all details regarding the exam dates, and event schedule for registration, hall ticket download, result declaration, etc.

Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad, conducts the MICAT exam in two phases. Typically, the examination under first phase is conducted in the first week of December. Whereas, the second phase exam is conducted in the last week of January. Candidates can find the MICAT exam dates on the official website along with other exam details. Candidates can choose to apply for both or either of the exam phases for MICAT.
MICAT 2025 exam is scheduled to be conducted on December 7 for first phase, and January 25 for second phase.
