Admission to UG courses of Michigan State University is competitive, however, there are no minimum requirements. The entering class of 2023 had a high school GPA 3.5-4.0. Other details for the Fall 2023 Class profile are:
- Total SAT score: 1100-1310
- Composite ACT: 24-30
Since there are no minimum requirements for UG courses, and the data for the entering class specifies a higher GPA than 2.5, it is advised to students to aim for a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The Michigan State University Spartans are the athletic teams that represent MSU. In 1926, the university's first southern baseball training tour provided the setting for the birth of the 'Spartans' nickname.
