Michigan State University ranked at #151-200 in Shanghai rankings 2024. In the previous year, this university was placed in the same position. This shows that there has been a decline in the Shanghai rankings. Parameters used to calculate these rankings are quality of education, quality of faculty, research output, and per capita performance. Law, Sociology, and Political Sciences courses of this university also rank well in the Shanghai 2024 rankings.

The UG Business course of Michigan State University has been ranked at #27 in 2025 rankings by U.S. News & World Report. In the previous year, this course ranked at #21. Also, for a lot of courses, this ranking publisher ranked Michigan State in 2024 such as Supply Chain Management MBA at #1, UG Mechanical Engineering at #28, Chemical Engineering PG at #53, Civil Engineering PG at #48, Graduate Business School at #41, etc.

Michigan State University has been included in the QS subject rankings for Global MBA and Masters in Business Analytics in 2025. For the Global MBA course, this university ranks at #72 in 2025. In the previous year, this university ranked at #79. This shows that in the Global MBA rankings, MSU's ranking has improved. On the other hand, this university's ranking has declined slightly for Masters in Business Analytics course. MSU rank at #34 in 2025 and #27 in 2024 for Masters in Business Analytics course.

According to QS World University Rankings, MSU ranking is #152 in 2025. In 2024, MSU ranked at #136. A decline in the university's QS rankings can be observed, but, even then, this university has managed to stay among the Top 200 Universities in the world in 2025. Subject rankings for the Global MBA course is #72 and for the Masters in Business Analytics course is #34 in 2025.

In the previous year's ranking, this university ranked at #116 in THE rankings. It can be concluded that in the world rankings, this university ranks among the Top 200 Universities worldwide.
