No, you cannot join NIFT Kangra for the B.Des programme without taking the NIFT Entrance Exam. The entrance exam is a mandatory requirement for admission to all undergraduate courses, including B.Des, at NIFT campuses. The selection process consists of two key parts: the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT), followed by a personal interview (for certain courses). These assessments evaluate your creative skills, general aptitude, and knowledge in areas related to design and fashion. Both campuses have dedicated placement cells, but Kangra often benefits from a larger network of industry contacts. Checking recent placement statistics and student comments from both institutes might provide more detailed information about current trends.

Admissions Direct admission is rarely available at the NIFT Kangra. The students are enrolled by the institute based on the performance in the NIFT entrance, which comprises a written exam, group discussions, and personal interviews. However, in some instances, the facility of direct admissions is availed by a few candidates in cases of sports quotas or other exceptional achievements-but this would be rather an exception. You may contact the admissions office to obtain the latest and most accurate information regarding chances of direct admission, particularly in cases of exceptional circumstances.
