To get into B.Des in NIFT Kangra, the eligibility criteria must be qualified by stating that "the candidate must have passed 10+2 of any stream Science/Commerce/Arts from a recognized board of respective state. The upper age limit is 23 years, but SC/ST/PwD candidates are provided with an age relaxation of up to 5 years." And admission will be taken based on scores obtained in the NIFT entrance exam. Then the shortlisted students undergo document verification and pay tuition fees.

Admissions Direct admission is rarely available at the NIFT Kangra. The students are enrolled by the institute based on the performance in the NIFT entrance, which comprises a written exam, group discussions, and personal interviews.
