Hi there,Rule 1: Don't go for what is easy.
Rule 2: Prioritize your interest. About NIFT Entrance Exam it consists of 2 phases I. e. Phase 1 CAT & GAT) and Phase 2 (Situation Test).
Phase 1 carries 80% ratio in which 50% is for Creativity Aptitude Test CAT and 30%is for General Aptitude (GAT).
And, 20% for Phase 2 (Situation Test).
You need to clear the phase 1 to appear for phase 2.
NIFT Entrance is not tough, but you got to be creative and be yourself.

You can apply for fashion design. You can do your masters in design and take up fashion design. This will help you not only learn about the technical aspect of fashion design but help you build up a resume and contacts in the industry. You can also do internships and shadow other designers to learn valuable insights.

Hi, Fashion design in NIFT has a module about 'photography' for one semester. Fashion communication on the other hand has fashion photography as one of its core subjects. If you want to learn something like styling which is also an integral part of fashion photography I would suggest choosing fashion design otherwise fashion communication would be the best option for you.

Hi,
NIFT holds annual entrance exams common to all the NFIT centers. You can appear for the exam in the center that is most convenient for you. If you qualify for the counselling round you will get to choose a course and center based on the your merit rank from the entrance exam.

No, as a matter of fact find ways to use your background. Being a science student will help with entrance exams. Try to keep up with the latest news and find ways to work on your design/sketching skills. Make a list of all the deadlines for the college's you want to apply to make sure you don't miss them.

Yes, you can either do a fashion designing Diploma or a certificate course. If you have or when you get enough technical experience you can start doing Internships to get experience/make contacts. Find local colleges around you so you can hit the ground running.
