NBE doesn't officialy releases sectional weightage in NEET PG exam. As per experts and exam taking students, maximum questions are asked from clinical section. Most questions are asked from general medicine, general surgery, pharmacology, pathology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology etc. NEET PG 2026 exam date will be announced by NBE. The exam is expected to be held in August 2026.

The total duration of NEET PG exam is 3.5 hours or 210 minutes. In 2024, NBE introduced time bound section in NEET PG exam. This means candidates will have specific time to solve specific number of questions. Whole question paper is divided into 5 sections (A to E) with 40 questions each. Candidates get 42 minutes to solve each section. It must be noted candidates can't answer questions of any section till he/she exahusts allotted time (42 minutes) of previous section.

There is least chance National Board of Examinations (NBE) will make some changes in NEET PG 2026 pattern. The exam pattern is released along with the official information brochure online. The exam pattern comprises crucial details pertaining to exam including mode, medium, total number of questions, their type, and marking scheme.

You need to clear FMGE exam to continue with PG in India, NEET PG is for locals, FMGE is for other students.

FMGE entrance exam is conducted every 6 months.

State agencies conduct counselling for 50% quota seats. Rest 50% seats are allotted through All India Quota which is conducted by Medical counselling Committee (MCC). Candidates do have to fill application form to become elligible for state counselling process. State counselling bodies release counselling dates and schedule for seat allotment.

For every counselling round, reporting deadline is provided in the counselling schedule. Candidates can submit fees and report till the given deadline. Though candidates can report till last day, but they are advised to report before the deadline due to different schedule of holiday/working hours in various Medical Colleges/Institutes. Also they are advised to carry all original certificates and documents during reporting.
