Until 2016, AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) was the medical exam and was replaced with NEET. With the introduction of NEET, all the other state level and college level medical entrance exams were stalled. NEET is now the only medical entrance exam; amedical aspirant has to take up which ensures an equitable basis to all.
NEET preparation is incomplete without books. The market is flooded with millions of books, but it is necessary to refer to the right study material. Medical aspirants find it very confusing to choose the right book.

I would suggest not to take another year to prepare for the same and look for other options. Dropping one more year will only add more complications while making a career.

Preparation for both of these exams is actually very simple. Assign time for study of each subject everyday. Assign time for exercise and yoga everyday. Take mock test every week. Brush up weak areas! That's all.
