The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has laid down the following criteria, which will bar candidates from participating in the NEET SS Counselling Round 2:

  • Candidates who did not report at the allotted institute after seat allotment in Round-1 and did not register again for Round-2. 
  • Candidates who have reported in Round 1 of NEET SS counselling and not opted for upgradation.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has stated the following eligibility criteria for participating in the NEET SS 2024 counselling Round 2. 

  • Registered candidates who were not allotted seat in Round 1
  • Candidates who have reported/joined at allotted institute during the joining period of round-1 of allotment and submitted willingness for participating in second round up-gradation as 'Yes'.

The NEET SS counselling is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the 100 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats of the M.Ch, DNB and DrNB courses. Candidates have to participate in the NEET SS counselling process is an online mode, by visiting the official website and completing the processes such as registration, choice filling and locking, and checking of the seat allotment result. The NEET SS counselling process is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) primarily in online mode. All the steps of the counselling process, including the registration, release of seat matrix, choice filling and locking, and release of the seat allotment result. Only the last and final round, which is the institute reporting, has to be done in offline mode. Herein candidates who have been allotted seats have to visit the institutes for document verification and complete the admission process by paying the requisite fee amount.

As announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), there will be three rounds of NEET SS 2025 counselling. The average duration for each round of counselling is going to be around 15 days. The round-wise start and end dates of NEET SS 2024 counselling are given below.

- Reservation Percentage; 5% horizontal reservation in AIQ seats

- Eligibility Criteria: Minimum 40% disability as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016

- Certificate Requirement: Disability certificate issued by an authorized medical board

- Applicability: Both AIQ and State Quota seats

The NEET SS 2023 cutoff for M.Ch. Urology admission in West Bengal differed according to the quota and category. For the All India Quota (AIQ), the cut-off score for M.Ch. Urology was approximately 250. The cutoff scores were lowered from the 50th percentile to the 20th percentile for some specializations in 2023

The NEET SS 2024 exam was conducted on March 29 and March 30, 2025, in a window of two days and two slots. According to the test-takers, the difficulty level of the exam was moderate to tough. Those who attempted the exam for the first time found the difficulty level to be very tough. Those who appeared for the second or third time found the NEET SS 2024 difficulty level to be on the moderate to tough lines. Some courses such as Oncology, Critical Care Medicine, and Surgical Groups had higher difficulty levels as compared to other groups.
