NET Eligibility

Because you are not specific about the university/ college, hence the eligibility criteria of GGSIU Delhi for B.Ed. (Two years of duration) course is given below.Educational qualification: Candidates with at least 50% (fifty percent) marks either in the Bachelors Degree and/or in the Masters Degree in Science / Social Sciences/ Humanities, Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with 55 % (fifty five percent) marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme. The University shall follow NCTE guidelines/ regulations for the B.Ed. Programmes for admissions and implementation.
Admission Criteria: Admission shall be on the basis of the merit of the written test /CET. The eligibility criteria of UGC NET for JRF and Assistant Professorship : Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Masters Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science etc. (See subjects list Annexure-IV of Information bulletin Year 2019)

So, B.Ed is not mandatory for UGC NET. Students in the final year of the Masters programme or waiting for its result can also apply for the exam.
Age: Applicants must not be more than 30 years of age as on June 1, 2020 to apply for Junior Research Fellowship. There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor. So from above M.Sc. Mathematics students are not eligible for UGC NET but can be eligible for related subjects only (please see subjects list).

Hello,The CSIR NET and UGC NET exam are held for the selection of candidates for assistant professor and JRF in the national institutes of India, The Science stream candidates can apply for CSIR NET exam for life Science, Earth, mathematical, physical and chemical Science subjects. The candidates must have the post-graduation degree to be eligible for the CSIR NET exam. The candidates who have completed the graduation degree are also eligible to apply for the exam, however, they need to complete the master's degree within 2 years from the result declaration. The Pharma candidate is eligible to apply for CSIR NET exam and needs to complete the master's degree after qualifying the NET exam.

Hello Shalu, According to the UGC norms, the candidates who have completed the post graduation degree with more than 55% marks from recognised university can apply for the exam, The UGC NET exam is organized for the selection of candidates for assistant professor and JRF. The minimum eligibility is post graduation. There is no age limit for the lectureship but the candidates must be below 30 years for the JRF. The university that you have graduated from must be approved by UGC. The UGC has released a list of universities that are approved and eligible for NET exam. Yes, you are eligible to appear for the NET exam. As per the rules aspirants who have successfully enrolled themselves in the Masters or equivalent course are also eligible to appear in the NET exam. Mainly there are two types of NET exam is conducted;
CSIT NET CSIR NET exam is conducted for the candidates who belongs from the Science background. This exam is separately conducted in 5 main subjects. UGC NET UGC NET exam is conducted for the candidates who belongs from the non-Science background. This exam is separately conducted in 81 subjects. Both the exams are conducted under NTA guidelines. The last date to apply for the exam is 9th October 2019.
